Watch the latest Monthly Property & Economic Update

30 January 2018

The housing market is yet to properly kick back into action fully for 2018 so this month we took the opportunity to evaluate the year that was 2017 in the property market.

Quick highlights include:

  • Wellington and Dunedin finishing the year with strong growth off the back of continually low listings on the market.
  • Auckland showed signs of growth toward the end of the year after seeing values drop throughout most of the year, helped by first home buyers remaining relatively active compared to investors.
  • Cities/Districts in the bottom half of the North Island saw the greatest growth over the year, including Masterton, Horowhenua, Whanganui and Napier.

But make sure you check out the video to hear all about where we ended up and where things are likely to go in 2018.
